EXCERPT
Reagan
I can’t remember the last time I was so nervous for my first day of work. Even though it’s not technically my first day of work. But I want to do a good job. The opportunities this could open up for me could be huge.
“Hi. Are you Reagan?” The hurried voice of a blonde woman greets me in the lobby.
“I am. Hi.” I stand, extending my hand to her.
“Great to meet you. I’m Jessica. I’ll be showing you around today before you meet the boss.”
I grab my bag, following her through the sleek lobby of the Scott Communications building. The all-glass atrium reflects the bright blue skies of the harbour outside. “Do you ever get sick of views like this?”
Jessica aims a bright white smile my way. “I am from a tiny town on the coast. I’ll never get sick of this.”
“It’s stunning. The pictures I saw before I came don’t do it justice.”
“Have you ever been to Oz before?” Jessica asks as we get in the elevator.
I shake my head. “First time.”
She grabs my arm in excitement. “You’ll love it. There’s so much to see and do. Did you get to see anything this weekend?”
“I spent most of the weekend getting settled into my place.” No need to go into the other extracurricular activities from the weekend. That tiny twinge between my legs is reminder enough.
“Of course. Here we are.” The elevator doors open to a lobby filled with activity. Jessica, ever the diligent guide, points everything out as we make our way through the office. She introduces me to people, new faces swirling in front of me as we move from department to department.
“This is your office. If you need any supplies, just let us know.” She pushes open a door to a small office overlooking another building. “Not the best views, but you’ll be working with Mr. Scott in the conference room a lot. The conference room view is of the harbour, and it is beautiful.”
“How is it working for Mr. Scott?” I ask, setting my bag down.
“Mr. Scott can be intimidating. Firm, but fair. I don’t work with him too much, but he’s easy on the eyes.”
A smirk spreads across my face. “Does everyone in this country look like they’re related to a Hemsworth?”
Jessica sighs. “If only. Now, if you’re ready, I’ll take you to meet Mr. Scott.”
“Let’s go.” I’m ready to get started on this new project that brought me from Indianapolis to Down Under.
Jessica chatters away as we make our way to the corner office. She wipes her hands on her skirt, a nervous energy overcoming her. “Stella. Is he ready?”
“Yes, darling. Go on in.” The woman outside Mr. Scott’s office beams at us as Jessica knocks on the door, waiting for permission to enter. When it comes, I follow her in.
“Mr. Scott. This is Reagan Foster, our new project manager.” Jessica’s smile isn’t as big now, no doubt nervous being in front of the CEO of the company. But when my eyes lock on his, my smile fades entirely.
It’s Leo. The giver of magical org@sms and possessor of a magical tongue, who did so many dirty and delicious things to my body that my pu$$y is clenching at the memory.
