Review: The Glass Stone

The Glass Stone The Glass Stone by Sara Michaels
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Glass Stone is the third book in the Jeweled Fairytale Retelling series by Sara Michaels. While the first two books in the series need to be read in order as a duet, this third book can be read as a standalone. It is set in the same world, but the story itself stands by itself.

The Glass Stone is inspired by Cinderella, and it is easy to draw parallels between the tales. While it has the necessary elements to make this one feel like a Cinderella story, it does add unique spins to it. Like the first two books in the series, this one is filled with magic. Unlike the first two books, there is more of a focus on the political intrigue of court. It offers something a bit different while still providing elements that the fans of the first books were hooked on.

While not my favourite of the three books – the second book has that honour – fans of the magical world are sure to be intrigued by this different insight into the magic.
