Review: Trailing Moon Flowers

Trailing Moon Flowers Trailing Moon Flowers by Angel Nyx
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Having read and enjoyed both Midnight Orchids and Radiant Violets – books three and four in the NOLA Shifters series – I decided it was finally time to go back and start the series from the beginning. As eager as I was to dive into Wild Lilies, then Scarlet Roses, I decided to start with the prequel, Trailing Moon Flowers.

Whether you’re new to the NOLA Shifters series or a fan, Trailing Moon Flowers is a wonderful read. It’s both a great introduction and a great addition to the series, working at any point in your reading order. With this story taking place prior to the main series, it offers some interesting history to the world and characters.

Like many prequel stories, this one falls into what I tend to think of as the ‘required young shifter love’ story. You see it often as the prequel, where we’re introduced to characters that reappear throughout the series with constant references being made to their younger years. Due to this, Trailing Moon Flowers is like a few other prequel shifter stories out there, but Angel Nyx makes it unique.

It is a story that sucks you in, one that leaves you curious about how everything will play out. There are certain elements you expect to see, yet it is the small things you are most curious about. You find yourself sucked in, turning the pages at a rapid rate to see how everything comes together.

Trailing Moon Flowers is a quick read, but it is certainly an addictive one.
