Avalon Nightmares by Alexa Whitewolf
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Fae. Gods. Arthurian legends. Those are just three of the things Alexa Whitewolf brings us in Avalon Nightmares. For those who have read the two prior books in the Avalon Chronicles, this one brings everything together well.
Avalon Dreams and Avalon Wishes told us two parts of the same story, with a lot of time separating the events. With Avalon Dreams we were given the present, the return of heroes. With Avalon Wishes we were given the past, the truth of what happened way back. With Avalon Nightmares, the two merge and we get so much more.
With so much to come together, with so many storylines included, it is hard to talk about this one without giving spoilers. Thus, I’m going to go with a very simplistic review and say everything comes together so well. We dig deeper into all the storylines, getting to see more of characters we both love and hate. We get answers to questions, new elements are introduced, and the story leaves you perfectly content with how events play out.
Moreover, the story leaves you extremely eager for more of Atrox. There are details about Atrox left open, details that will have you desperate to jump into his novella. Even though you’re happy with how the things end in Avalon Nightmares, you’ll be happy – desperate, even – to dig into more.
After enjoying this conclusion to the main Avalon Chronicles arc, I’m now jumping right into the Atrox novella to get more of the character I came to adore.
