Loving Liv by Stacey Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Loving Liv gave me more than I anticipated. I had planned to read a couple of chapters, nothing more, but once I got started, I could not put it down.
The chemistry between the characters was insane, sucking me right into the story. I was desperately powering through the story, absorbing every interaction. I could not get enough of them, I adored how they played off each other, and I certainly want to read more about them.
In fact, this has left me wanting to find out what books the side characters are from. I’m curious about the world we were introduced to. The BDSM was not as intense as I like such stories to be, but the chemistry between the characters more than hooked me, leaving me curious about how the other stories play out.
Without a doubt, I’ll be reading more of the author’s work in the future.

Review: Miss Austen
Miss Austen by Gill Hornby
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
If asked for their favourite classic, a lot of people will name an Austen book. I’ve never been such a person, but that did not stop me from being interested in Miss Austen. I’m always happy to find out more about the past, especially when it’s done through mixing fact and fiction, but I think this is one of those books best read if you’re an Austen fan.
Rather than focusing on the best-known Austen, Miss Austen focuses on Cassandra. We get some information from early in life, but most focuses on her later years. There were many things that had me wanting to read on, but I was never sucked complete in.
I believe this was due to the fact I wasn’t quite the right audience. However, I’m sure fans of Austen will find this homage to the sisters enjoyable.

Title: Dirty Hookup
A Slayers Hockey Series Novel
A Slayers Hockey Series Novel
Author: Mira Lyn Kelly
Genre: Hockey Romance
Release Date: March 31, 2020
Blurb
One look and I
know… this chick hates me.
I should walk away, find some puck bunny to gleefully sit on my lap and tell me what a big, hot, hockey stud I am--totally true, BTW. But there’s just something about this feisty redhead I can’t let go. She’s got an edge to her that’s sexy as hell and a smart mouth that’s been tying me up since the night I met her.
She tells me to forget it, we’re not happening. But this isn’t the kind of woman a guy ever forgets. Especially when the air starts to sizzle and pop every time we get within ten feet of each other. She’s in my head and under my skin, and all I can think about is the way she looked at me that one time. Like she already knew how it could be between us.
I’m not the kind of guy a girl like her takes home… But maybe I want to be.

I’m not the kind of guy a girl like her takes home… But maybe I want to be.
Unfreakingbelievable.
Ducking around a
corner, I press my back to the wall and suck one shaky breath after another
until the spots behind my eyes finally clear, along with any wayward thoughts
about a third Slayers hockey player needing a bed in the ER.
I can’t believe it.
After all these years.
Quinn O’Brian.
Two feet in front of
me. Giving me that same smile. The one that put my belly into free fall the
first time I saw it. Left me breathless. And then less than a day later, left
me humiliated. Devastated. Working up fantasies about the wrath I’d rain down
on him if I ever saw him again.
So much for that
badassery. My knees barely held me when I looked up to find those stupid
sea-green eyes twinkling back at me like some Disney hero come to life.
Stupid eyes.
Stupid shoulders and
muscles-everywhere body.
Stupid sandy blond
hair standing up like some foolish girl just had her hands in it for the last
hour.
And that
introduction.
Blowing out a
breath, I shake my head.
He didn’t even
recognize me. Though why I ever thought he might is beyond me. Six years later
and I’m still reading more into that night than there ever was. More into those
soul-deep stares and slow touches. More into those tender words that turned out
to be total lies.

Review: Attracting Aubrey
Attracting Aubrey by Avery Flynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Attracting Aubrey was a story I had to devour in a single sitting. Once I got started, I could not get enough. The story had my attention from the first page, and I was desperate to see how everything played out.
With great characters, an entertaining story, and plenty of moments to leave you smiling, the story will have you turning the pages at a rapid pace. There were some details that were a bit too predictable, certain elements that I saw coming well in advance, but this was not enough to take away from my enjoyment. It was a quick read that held the attention throughout, and I happily devoured it.
All in all, another winner from the author.

Review: Easy to Fall
Easy to Fall by W. Winters
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Easy to Fall is the final book in the Hard to Love series, and I have very mixed feelings about this one. I wanted to give this one a three-star rating, but something that really annoys me happened with this one and I found I could not bring myself to round up my rating.
Throughout the Hard to Love series, readers have needed to be aware of an entire universe created by the author. A lot of knowledge is needed, but with this one I finally thought I was wrapping my head around the information. In fact, I was curious to see how everything came together.
Then the thing that annoys me happened. The story came to an end for these characters, but there are still questions remaining about the overarching storyline. At no point was there a warning this would happen. I feel as though I read a series, only for a conclusion to never come.
Sure, I enjoyed the way certain elements played out for our main characters. There were some interesting twists and details I enjoyed watching. However, it was not enough to remove the fact I feel cheated by the lack of solid conclusion. If I had been aware of this from the start, I would not have committed myself to the series without first having made myself aware of the entire world.
I’m sure anyone that has read the other books in the Cross world will enjoy this one, but for someone that has only read the Hard to Love series, Easy to Fall could very well cause some disappointment. I know it did for me, as I was hoping everything would be tied up with this one.

Review: Change in Strategy
Change in Strategy by Sierra Hill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
After the first book in the Change of Hearts series, I was eager to dive into Change in Strategy. I was curious to see what the second book would bring, and happily devoured the story.
As I had hoped, this was a book that had me addicted throughout. Once I started, I was hooked. I was desperate to see how things played out, turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down. I may not have loved it as much as I loved the first book in the series, but it certainly had me addicted.
Although I was addicted, I will be honest and say I wish certain elements had gone into more detail. There was the potential for a lot of emotion outside of the romance, but I never felt it quite as much as I had hoped to. It was an addictive story, but it didn’t quite hit the emotional notes I had hoped for.
All in all, another addictive read. I cannot wait to see what the third book in the series brings.
