In my quest to read all of Poe, I have been all over the place. In fact, it has taken until double digits to reach something I recognised. It just so happened this piece of Poe I recognised was The Raven.
I can now say I understand why The Raven is so popular. It’s quintessential Poe, a wonderful poem that will have you hooked throughout. It is addictive in so many ways, is rememberable, and all I had hoped it would be.
I would love to be the type of person to make a nevermore pun or joke here, to come across as witty, but honesty is the best policy – so I will keep it simple. The Raven was wonderful.
